Jungle Soldier

Jungle Soldier: Song Lyrics.

The story line is based on reports of Japanese soldiers hiding out in the jungle long after WWII was over. They were shocked to learn that Japan had lost the war and all those years in hiding were wasted. The story illustrates the nature of illusions that keep us in darkness when love is all around us.

I know, this is yet another song looking for singers, like a nail searching for a hammer, but I think it could serve a purpose, a moral if not a spiritual one. Singers, song-writers encouraged to respond.

Jungle Soldier

Vince Migliore

Verse 1.

Jungle soldier in a cave; island outpost by the waves.
War was over long ago, all alone he doesn’t know.
Jumbled thoughts run through his years, victory or bitter tears?
Comrade troops may soon arrive, I must struggle to survive.

Verse 2.

Dangled fruit and rodents kill, barely den or belly fill.
Fearful days and constant strife, is this all there is to life?
Jangled nerves, in dark I hide, ‘til finally the news arrives.
A fearful mind is hard to bend, the enemy is now my friend!

Chorus:

Stardust and spirit, a marriage so odd.
A Mother-Earth vessel, a spark from our God.
How can a body contain the divine,
When souls are born of Infinite Mind?

Verse 3.

Mangled dreams are all we see, but this is not reality.
Loving thoughts will set us free, any time we want to be.
Tangled self-imprisonment gives way to blessings heaven-sent.
From darkened cave and all alone to joy in our eternal home.

Chorus:

Stardust and spirit, a marriage so odd.
A Mother-Earth vessel, a spark from our God.
How can a body contain the divine,
When souls are born of Infinite Mind?

Outro:

When souls are born of Infinite Mind.
